As a recent example of Michael’s innovativeness, he launched The Grad Mobile during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, offering socially distant graduation ceremonies in driveways, parking lots, church yards (goats included!), and cul de sacs across the Mid Atlantic, ensuring hundreds of students didn't miss this important milestone.
With degrees from the University of Delaware and the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus Clown College, Michael's performances have captivated global audiences in various venues. He founded acclaimed comedy groups, such as The DumbWaiters and Dingbats, securing the prestigious Maryland State Individual Artist Grant Award twice. Hey, I'm Joe and I'm 42 years old from Connecticut. My circus journey began when I learned the devilsticks to pass with my friends around age 12. Around this same time I started learning how to ride bike trials, which is a sport that involves getting your bike up and over obstacles. Both have been a huge passion of mine for the past 30 years.
I never thought this is where my life would take me, but I enjoyed doing both so much I became both a professional bike trials rider and a professional devilsticks performer. I became proficient with poi, contact staff, juggling clubs, fire fans, fire eating and triple staff.
Doing both bike stunt shows and fire dancing shows gave me the idea to create a fire bike, which people also love. Nowadays, being a performing artist is how I make a living.
After many years of developing my devilsticks skills, I began to incorporate a lot of unique and more complex moves like contact tricks, juggling patterns and other various techniques into my devilsticks routines. I've been at the cutting edge of what's possible with devilsticks for a while now, and have carved out a niche as a pioneer and one of the most skilled devilsticks performer in the country.

They met at Circadium in 2019, and have been performing up and down the east coast ever since. Their passions lie in duo juggling and pushing the limits of what two people and four hands can achieve, or sometimes two hands…maybe three. Six? Anyway, enjoy!

When I was 9 years old, I decided I wanted to be a stand-up comedian. Not when I grew up, mind you, right away. Since there aren't many comedy venues available when you are 9, I decided I would sell jokes door to door. I went around my neighborhood knocking on doors and telling people I was selling jokes at 10 cents a joke. One guy actually fell down laughing when he heard this, so I charged him and surprisingly, he paid. I made a little over $4 that day and ever since I have been making people laugh until they gave me money.
I learned to juggle in high school and began performing part-time while getting a degree in journalism from Penn State. By the time I graduated I decided I didn't want to get a day job. I was just going to perform full-time. I've never worked a real job, I'm very proud of that.
